Students and leaders from AWAKE Student Ministry are taking Sports Camp on the road to the Envision site in Atlanta, Georgia from August 14-23. In addition to linking arms with Envision Atlanta, we will also be partnering with local Christ-centered, missionally focused athletic non-profits who use sports as a means for long-term discipleship in the Clarkston, GA region. Our trip will help these organizations share the Good News of Jesus, open doors for new relationships and connections, all while serving some of the most overlooked peoples in the greater Atlanta area.
When we served in tandem with these ministries in the past, we were able to minister to dozens of kids representing refugee families from roughly 60 tribes and nationalities around the globe. Displaced peoples are seeking asylum in this region and we are able to make a real gospel impact while also meeting tangible needs and bringing some light to a kids week through engaging them with sports. We love this opportunity because we know that the work we do during our week in Atlanta will be fuel for the fire of ongoing long-term ministry on the ground long after we are there. The students and adults on this trip take serious ownership and lead in a variety of areas with the sports camp we are mobilizing. Thanks for all of your prayers and support!
